Ribs and Chicken Oriental Recipe

This Pinay recipe is a delicious and tasty yet it is simple and easy to cook. This Ribs and Chicken Oriental is a favorite in our Sunday family get together. This recipe was introduced to me by my aunt who is a cook at a catering business. Try this food recipe and you will like it. You licked the rib i tell you. LOL.

Ingredients:

1 kg Pork ribs (chopped lengthwise)
1 kg chicken, cut into serving portion
1 1/2 cups soy sauce
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 tbsp. sesame oil
1/4 cup cooking oil
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 inch ginger, cut into small lenghtwise
2 cups water (add some more if sauce thickens)
1/4 cup sesame seeds toasted
onion leaves (topping and siding)

Procedure:

Mix soysauce, brown sugar and sesame oil together and set aside. Put the 1/4 cup cooking oil in a heavy skillet (preferably teflon) and fry the chicken and set aside. From the oil left in the skillet, saute garlic and ginger then put the ribs. Turn the meat until it becomes white. Pour the soy sauce, sugar and sesame oil mixture and water into the ribs. Cover the pan and let it simmer until the ribs are cooked. Open the skillet once in a while to turn the meat until the sauce thickens.

Whe the ribs are cooked, mix the pan fried chicken and let it simmer until all the meat are tender and sauce thickens. When meat are tender, pour half of the sesame seeds and stir again.

When served, sprinkle the remaining sesame seed and onion leaves on top.

And you have a delicious and tasty Ribs and Chicken Oriental .

Adobong Manok| Chicken Adobo

Another all-time Filipino favorite dish, the delicious tasting adobong manok or chicken adobo for all season. This Filipino favorite dish have different variations according to different regions of the Philippines. This recipe is very simple and easy to cook.

For you dearest, I will post a Pinay Recipe of Tagalog variation of adobong manok.

Here is the Pinay recipe of Adobong Manok.

Adobong Manok/ Chicken Adobo

1 kilo chicken
1 cup water
1/2 cup vinegar
3/4 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon peppercorn
1/4 cup cooking oil

Procedure:

Cut chicken. You can buy sliced chickens at the market or in meat shops. Boil with soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, peppercorn and water. Set aside the boiled chicken, separate the broth. Fried the chicken in cooking oil. Let chicken drip the excess oil or you can put the chicken on towel tissue paper. Simmer the broth until thick enough and then put the chicken.

You can add laurel or bay leaf to add taste or add some chili if you want it spicy and hot.

There you go, the delicious, tasty adobong manok.

You can fry left over chicken adobo or adobong manok. You can make sandwiches with left over chicken adobo.

Paksiw na Bangus recipe

One of the all-time favorite dish of Filipino families is Paksiw na Bangus. This Pinay recipe is tested and tasted according to Filipino standards of simple cooking. This paksiw na bangus is a good partner to hot rice and ripe bananas.

Left over paksiw na bangus can be fried and it taste good and a good breakfast meal. Fried paksiw na bangus is comparable to tinapa or smoked fish.

You can buy delicious and tasty medium sized bangus or milkfish at the freshmarket or in supermarkets. For me I prefer Dagupan bangus because they are fresh and the belly is thick and rich and fatty, but good cholesterol coming from fish.

Here is the simple paksiw na bangus recipe:

Paksiw na Bangus

1/2 kilo bangus (milkfish)
1 cup water
1 cup vinegar
1 ginger, medium size, cut into strips
1 onion, medium size, cut into strips
2 tablespoon garlic, minced
2 green long pepper
salt to taste

Procedure:

Except salt and long green pepper, put bangus(milkfish) and other ingredients together in a casserole o small sauce pan. Boil until tender and the meat of milkfish is whitish or pale white. Put some salt according to your taste. Then put long green pepper. Boil for another 3 minutes.
